Fall Skin Care Essentials

The weather’s cooling down and fall is finally here. Is your skin ready? The dramatic change from summer’s heat to cooler temperatures can take its toll on your skin. Dryness, redness, and irritation are common at this time of year. These skin care tips will keep your skin looking and feeling its best all season long.

Stick with the Sunscreen Habitfall-skincare-essentials

Hopefully you’ve gotten yourself in a good sunscreen habit this summer. If you have, don’t stop now. Sunscreen should be a year round priority. We recommend applying at least an SPF 15 on a daily basis, higher SPF for days in the sun. Those wrinkles you blame on aging may actually be caused by sun exposure. Using sunscreen regularly can help keep your skin looking young and can even lower your skin cancer risk. This fall, slather on that sunscreen liberally and know that you’re protecting your skin from premature aging, skin cancer, sun damage, and other problems. If you need sunscreen recommendations, ask us. We carry a variety of top quality skin care products that our patients love.

Take a Warm Shower (Not Hot)

When the weather starts to cool, it may be tempting to take a hot shower to warm up. Stick with warm instead. Hot showers melt the natural oils in your skin leaving your skin red, dry, irritated, and itchy. For gorgeous skin, skip the hot showers and put on a sweater instead.

Schedule Those Pre-Holiday Treatments Now

If you want Botox before Thanksgiving or liposuction before Christmas, now’s the time to start booking appointments. While we do offer many no downtime treatments, it can take a couple of weeks before you’re party ready. Scheduling treatments now gives time for redness and swelling to fade and for maximum results to be achieved before you show off your new look to the world. If you want to WOW this holiday season, now’s the time to act.

Peel Away Summer’s Sun Damage

Has summer taken a toll on your skin? Come in for a deep exfoliation treatment and reveal fresh, new skin for fall. The chemical peel is a great option for a quick rejuvenation. For patients with more extensive damage, deeper peels are available. We also offer microdermabrasion and laser skin resurfacing. Goodbye summer… Hello fall!
