What is liposuction?
Liposuction is the removal of unwanted fat from certain areas of the body to sculpt your figure to your liking. Liposuction can be performed on many areas of the neck and body, but it is most commonly done on the hips, thighs, buttocks and stomach.
While diet and exercise are excellent ways to reduce the overall amount of fat on the body, there is no way to "spot-reduce" fat – i.e. no amount of crunches will remove excess fat on the abdominals. Many people choose liposuction to remove this diet-resistant fat and give themselves a boost of confidence that they deserve.

What is the Procedure Like?
Your cosmetic dermatologist will place a tiny incision in an inconspicuous location on the body, then insert a suction tube called a cannula under the skin. A vacuum attached to the tube sucks out excess fat, and your dermatologist can sculpt the area and remove exactly as much fat as you desire.
Depending on the area and extent of treatment, patients usually experience a few weeks of recovery time. Pain, bruising and some swelling are all normal and should subside within a month of the procedure.
